Founding Director - Global Leaders in Construction Management
Professor Ibrahim Odeh is the Founding Director of the Global Leaders in Construction Management program at Columbia University. He is a unique combination of a strategist, academic, innovator, and entrepreneur. His work seamlessly merges the worlds of industry and academia, spans the global construction market, and provides leading construction firms with unique market insights and growth strategies. Professor Odeh worked as an advisory committee member at the World Economic Forum on the Future of Construction project and as an advisory board member at Financial Times on a similar initiative. In the fall of 2016, Professor Odeh introduced a project focused on providing Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) to educate global learners about Construction Management under the Coursera platform.
In the program's first two years, the number of learners registered for his courses exceeded 75,000 from 190 countries, with an additional 400 new learners joining every week! His courses ranked third globally under the business category on Coursera. Professor Odeh has won several awards and other recognition such as Columbia University's Presidential Award for Outstanding Teaching; Top 20 Under 40 by Engineering News Records; and Top 40 Under 40 by Consulting-Specifying Engineer. Professor Odeh received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and he also holds an MBA.
Tim McManus is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University and is a recognized global expert regarding the development and delivery of major capital projects and programs. He has been an Industry Advisor for the GLCM since 2012 and serves companies and governments involved with infrastructure, transportation, resiliency and sports facilities. From 2015 to 2019, Tim was a Vice President and Client Development Advisor in the Capital Projects and Infrastructure Practice of McKinsey & Company focusing on the development, financing, contracting and delivery of megaprojects and capital programs in infrastructure and other market sectors. Prior to McKinsey, Tim was the Senior Vice President and Director of Global Program Management for AECOM across all market sectors and geographies, involved with major projects and programs such as Crossrail in London, the Jeddah Transportation Program, the London Olympics, the National Infrastructure Program for Libya, Hurricane Sandy Recovery and many others.
He was also the Program Director as part of the New England Patriots Football management team for the development and construction of Gillette Stadium. He held key roles for EY in their Construction Consulting Practice, PMA Consultants and Exxon’s International Project Management Group. In addition, Tim has also served as a lecturer at the Harvard Business School, the Harvard Graduate School of Design, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Northeastern University and has been a frequent speaker at various industry conferences and seminars, and is a member of Parsons Corporation Critical Infrastructure Strategic Advisory Board and Turner and Townsend’s Board of Directors for the Americas.
Industry Advisor - Global Leaders in Construction Management
Dareen has focused her career in the AEC industry on the application of virtual design and construction platforms, linking multiple aspects of project/construction management including cost, schedule and facility information using building information modeling (BIM) and other emerging technologies. Dareen is the Co-Founder and CEO of Gryps, an AI power data extraction and analysis tool for construction industry owners and building operators. Dareen was the Director of Technical Services at Lehrer LLC, leading the implementation of multiple technologies including mobile applications, BIM and Project Management Information Systems at multiple projects and programs in New York City. Dareen was also the Deputy Project Controls Manager at STV, Inc. Notable projects that Dareen contributed to are LaGuardia Airport Redevelopment Program and the Javits Convention Center Expansion. She was also a visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute in New York City. Prior to her career in New York, Dareen was a structural engineer at Dar Al-Handasah Consultants in Cairo.

Dareen is currently pursuing her MBA at Harvard Business School and the co-president of the Entrepreneurship Club at HBS. Dareen is a founding Member of New York Society of Construction Solutions (technology focused industry group), an active member of CMAA, and an associate member of ASCE. Prior to business school she served as the co-chair of the CMAA National Emerging Technologies Committee.
She received her undergraduate education at the American University in Cairo (AUC) and her MSc. Civil Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she attended one of the country’s top civil engineering graduate programs.

Christopher Guilcapi is a Project Analyst Consultant at Turner & Townsend. He is working in the big tech sector doing data analysis and business intelligence for his client by analyzing construction trends in global data center projects and building interactive dashboards to examine data. He is the recipient of the prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the GEM Fellowship at Columbia University in recognition of his great potential and research experience, the Hispanic Scholarship Foundation (HSF) Leadership Scholarship for his professional development experience, and the Buick Achievers Scholarship in his pursuit of a STEM education. He is a current member of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), the Young Real Estate Professionals of New York, and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Chris is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration through the Quantic School of Business and Technology. He received his Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management from Columbia University, his Bachelor of Science degree with Honors from Lehigh University, and a Minor in Business. While at Columbia University, he was a member of the Global Leaders in Construction Management research group, helped to create and develop the GLCM website, and his research focused on Project Delivery Methods. He was also a Graduate Class Marshal, a Department Representative in the Engineering Graduate Student Council, and a Professional Development and Leadership Fellow.
