Productivity in construction has essentially remained stable for the past several decades. The GLCM group assigned several teams to study and learn from three major manufacturing industries: automotive, aerospace, and shipbuilding. The teams performed comprehensive literature reviews of each manufacturing industry. Another GLCM team then compared the results of these studies to the construction industry and extracted major lessons learned and best practices to improve productivity and profitability in the construction industry.
